Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his management team confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
