Indianapolis Colts Take On Falcons in Berlin – NFL Week 10

Hello, football fans. Wie gehts? Everything good I hope on this fine early start to the tenth week coming directly from Germany. Berlin's Olympic Stadium to be exact where at 9:30 AM EST and 2:30 PM GMT the mighty Colts (7-2) take on the Falcons (three wins and five losses). This marks the fifth matchup played on soil in Germany and the first in the capital city.

Pregame Key Moments

As sparkly jackets go that is an real standout from the Olympic figure skater on the coin toss. A slight fluff from Sky Sports there as we hear “which team got the coin flip?” from the presenter with an accidentally live microphone.

Well, the coin toss went to Indianapolis and have elected to receive. Daniel Jones and company will be taking the field soon. Will the QB bounce back after a difficult performance in their last game?

In a similar vein the vocalist performing the Star Spangled Banner has some of the largest shoulder pads you are bound to notice. The fashion picks are impressive today. The game is about to start after a choir performance for the national anthem of Germany. Elegant.

First Quarter Action

Colts 0-0 Falcons 13:30, 1st quarter

Here we go! And we have an exciting start after Jonathan Taylor receives a short throw, sweeps out for 15 yards to the right then loses the ball … only for his offensive lineman to save his bacon with the recovery. Colts are in Falcons territory already.

Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter

And the drama keeps coming as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The risk doesn't work out as Josh Downs fails to catch a quick pass from Jones. Prior to the failed attempt Jessie Bates put a huge hit on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. The Falcons have come out fighting on defense as they attempt to end their three-game losing streak. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Touchdown Recap

First score: Colts lead 6-0 at 8:36

Did Kyle Pitts just drop a touchdown? The tight end drops a clanger, he was wide open but the ball just slips through his grasp. That play rather sums up the high draft pick's professional journey to date.

So far, so disappointing but it only deteriorates for the Falcons as they cough the ball back to the Colts on the 23-yard mark. Michael Penix Jr is sacked and can’t keep hold of the ball.

An agile 22-yard rush from Ashton Dulin sets Jonathan Taylor up to roll in for the score on the next snap. The placekicker misses the point after attempt. Oops.

Falcons respond: 6-7 at 6:07

Penix Jr puts the fumble behind him by marching his Falcons down the field for a touchdown. The wide receiver makes some chunky receptions to put them in the scoring area then the defense opens up for the running back to saunter on to the goal line through the heart of the field for 13 yards. He completes the drive for a one-yard touchdown of his own. The Falcons take the lead.

Other Tenth Week Matchups

Additionally, the full slate starting at 12pm CST/1pm EST/6pm GMT (with home teams first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Panthers v New Orleans Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Chicago Bears v New York Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Houston Texans v Jaguars (5-3)

  • (2-7) Dolphins v Bills (6-2)

  • (4-4) Minnesota Vikings v Baltimore Ravens (3-5)

  • (1-7) New York Jets v Cleveland Browns (2-6)

  • (6-2) Tampa Bay Buccaneers v New England Patriots (7-2)

An exciting lineup. I’m planting my flag on the Vikings and Ravens playing out the top contest of the day.
