Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Acclaimed young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the publisher said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was made after an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions directed at female individuals.
The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."
A Highly Successful Literary Career
Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.
Several of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.
To date, he has released in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
From Screen to Page
His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
